A heated public discussion, played in the Black American press over whether a group of journalists should have taken a trip to Morocco in January 2014. Making the case against ‘taking the money from a government’ is Washington-Based columnist, Richard Prince. Prince came under fire, and sharp criticism, by Floyd Alvin Galloway in the New York Beacon Newspaper. The Beacon is a noted and ‘edgy’ weekly in the African-American community. Galloway argued that the Black Press MUST take such junkets to African nations to ‘bring the mother continent home’ to its readership.
